We are proud to have so many working partnerships with other schools. These strong partnerships enable us to learn from others; share best practice and resources and expand our learning through shared opportunities for both teachers, leaders and pupils.
We are pleased to work with our partner school Nykabunga Primary School in Uganda. This is a new partnership and one that we are really excited to develop over the coming years. We have planned opportunities across the year to develop our global learning and work on planned events with the children from Nykabunga Primary. We also work collaboratively with Hull Collegiate Primary School to explore work in Uganda. We have enjoyed planning events with them and inviting their pupils in to tell us all about their established partnership.
You can find more about our partner school and its location at www.teachuganda.org.
The Hornsea Cluster
The school has a long and established link working with schools within the Hornsea Cluster. Termly meetings are attended by the Headteacher and shared moderation is an established practice between teachers in the cluster. This network provides a wealth of support and expertise for teaching and learning within the cluster, including work with our local feeder Secondary School.
Small School Review Group
We are proud to work with Little Weighton C of E Primary School and North Cave C of E Primary School to develop and review best practice in teaching and learning. Both school’s are church schools in similar contexts, but in differing localities. This shared working has enabled challenge for leadership through termly school reviews focusing on areas of development; shared training opportunities and moderation between staff.
Riston, Sigglesthorne and Skirlaugh Benefice Schools
Working with our neighbouring church schools has enabled us to develop our learning in RE and develop our worship time in school. Each term a representative of children from each school gets together to review our previous themes and to plan ahead for the next. We also work together to share RE training, attend SACRE meetings and provide shared benefice focus days for the children of the three schools to get the opportunity to come and work together.
Our Headteacher works closely with the diocese as a Headteacher Mentor and in a diocese wide church school review group to review and develop the teaching and learning in our Church of England Schools. We enjoy welcoming people from the diocese in to work alongside with us and have gained a great deal from the mentor programme, enabling us once again to explore best practice with others.
