Dear Parents and Carers,
It is hard to believe we are in the final half term of the year already! It certainly promises to be a busy one. We have begun the half term with the wonderful news of a new baby at Riston. Mrs Densley – Seymour and her beautiful daughter Dorothy Rose, who came a little earlier than expected, have already made the most of technology and talked online to her class! It was wonderful to see the excitement of the children, and Mrs Densley-Seymour, as they all glimpsed their first peek of the baby!

Our value for this half terms worship is Respect. We look forward to sharing our work with you on twitter at we explore this value. You can find us at ristonprimary@ristonschool.

Kind regards,
Mrs S Hall

WOW!

Look what happens when we share! Our Global work has been so successful that our partner school, Wisdom Primary, is now looking at a much brighter future! The money sent from the school is being used to create a building. The school is currently just a wooden frame with tarp over it, which is torn and incomplete. The pictures, I have just received, show a community team working hard and baking bricks together to make a school for the children of Wisdom Primary. As we end our half term on the value of friendship – I think we may struggle to find a better example of friendship than this.

Attendance and from the office

Our target is 97% for the school. Our attendance is at 96.2% which is very close to us hitting our target. Thank you for supporting us in making sure your child is in school and ready to learn every day. We look forward to awarding even more 100% attendance certificates at the end of the Summer Term and of course our prizes and certificate for children with 100% attendance for the whole year.

PTFA Quiz and silent auction night

If you haven’t got the date in your diary yet, get Saturday night at 7pm booked in to join the PTFA for what promises to be a fun night of bingo and prizes! The PTFA have done a wonderful job in putting together all of our activities this year and my thanks must go out to them for all they have done. As a small PTFA, of often just two organising the events, they really have worked exceptionally hard. Please do get in touch if you are able to help. The money raised is shared with all of the children and enables every child to benefit. Get in touch with the school office if you can help and support, but are not sure who to contact.

Riston Wrap Around Care

Due to receiving only two requests for after school care, we are unfortunately unable to proceed with an after school club. As planned, from September we will be opening our breakfast club doors for nursery children to join us. Breakfast club opens at 8am each morning and provides food, games and fun for any child who would like to attend. The cost is £2.50 without breakfast and £3 with. If your nursery child would like to join the breakfast club, please contact Mrs Rodgers in the school office so we can discuss availability.

Singing for Well Being

Sneak peak… We will be sharing our wonderful singing at the music concert this year and hope you are able to join us. For a sneak peak of our musical warm ups, fun and quite frankly amazing sounds we would like to invite you in on Friday June 21st to come and enjoy it for yourself. Please note this is a participatory session not a concert – no solos will be required, but we are all up on our feet and singing and would love you to join in if you’re coming along. It really is great fun!
